The Flora Community Club is calling on local artists and residents to bring color and creativity to the community with its upcoming “Paint a Picnic Table” project.
Participants are invited to submit their design ideas by June 6 for approval ahead of the event. Painting will take place over three days—June 19, 20, and 21—with specific times to be announced.
The initiative aims to transform ordinary picnic tables into vibrant, artistic displays while encouraging community involvement and creative expression, with organizers emphasizing the importance of planning ahead by asking participants to arrive with a completed design concept or sketch, any inspiration materials such as photos or color palettes, and a clear vision for how their artwork will be executed using the provided paint.
Finished tables will be judged on July 4, with prizes awarded for first and second place entries.
In addition, the club is seeking two designs specifically for accessible picnic tables, encouraging artists to consider inclusivity and accessibility in their submissions.
