United Way Collecting School Supplies for Backpack Giveaway

The United Way for Clinton County is calling on the community to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year by donating school supplies for its annual Backpack Giveaway.

The supplies will be distributed during the Back to School Waddle on July 23 at TPA Park. This year, the organization hopes to provide 600 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students throughout the county.

Community members are encouraged to donate items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, folders, glue sticks, and other classroom necessities. Donations can be dropped off at the United Way office, located at 1234 Rossville Ave.

The backpack giveaway is designed to help ensure students begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom while easing the financial burden on families preparing for back-to-school expenses.

United Way officials say every donation, large or small, will help make a difference for local children and contribute to the success of the program.

Those interested in supporting the effort are encouraged to donate school supplies before the July 23 event. Community participation will help hundreds of students start the new school year prepared and ready to learn.
