Boone County Extension Homemakers Seeking Volunteers for Beehive at 2026 Boone County 4-H Fair

The Boone County Extension Homemakers are seeking volunteers to help staff the popular Beehive during this year’s Boone County 4-H Fair.

Community members ages 16 and older are encouraged to sign up for volunteer shifts during the fair, which takes place July 26 through Aug. 1 in Lebanon. More than 100 volunteers are needed to keep the Beehive operating smoothly throughout the week.

This year, volunteer shifts have been adjusted to three-hour blocks. Volunteers are asked to work two shifts, either back-to-back or on separate days, depending on their availability.

The Boone County 4-H Fair officially begins Sunday, July 26, with pre-fair activities scheduled for Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25. Events include the Queen Pageant, livestock check-in, Opening Ceremonies, a scavenger hunt, 4-H family activities, and a Fun Run.

The Boone County Extension Homemakers encourage volunteers to invite family members, friends, neighbors, and fellow church members to participate.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up through the organization’s Sign-Up Genius page. Volunteers can earn community service hours while supporting one of Boone County’s largest annual events.
