Frankfort Hot Dog Festival Announces Full Friday and Saturday Schedule of Events

The Frankfort Hot Dog Festival will return with a full weekend of entertainment, family activities, competitions, and live performances on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, offering something for visitors of all ages throughout downtown Frankfort.

From unique attractions and family activities to live music and festival favorites, this year’s schedule is packed with events celebrating community and summer fun.

Friday, July 24

The festival officially begins Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the Opening Ceremony at the Indiana Kitchen Stage on Clinton Street.

Several popular attractions will also open at 11:00 a.m., including:

  • “Let’s Sizzle & Roll” Hot Dog Trail
  • Puppy Park Family Fun Zone at Veterans Park
  • Prancing Ponies & Petting Zoo
  • DockDogs registration and practice at Veterans Park
  • Evolutions Exhibition at the Frankfort Community Public Library from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Throughout the day, festivalgoers can enjoy:

  • Chain Saw Carving
  • Dino Shows
  • Glass Blowing demonstrations
  • DockDogs competitions

The DockDogs Big Air Waves will take place at noon, 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. at Veterans Park, followed by the DockDogs Extreme Vertical Competition at 6:30 p.m.

Evening entertainment begins with the Beer Garden opening at the Encompass Event Center at 5:00 p.m.

Friday night’s live music lineup includes:

  • Heart to Heartbreakers — 6:00 p.m. at the Farmers Bank Performance Center Stage
  • Rick Knapp — 8:00 p.m. at the Farmers Bank Performance Center Stage
  • Isaac Rudd — 8:30 p.m. at the Indiana Kitchen Stage
  • CRUSH the Bon Jovi Experience — 9:00 p.m. at the Farmers Bank Performance Center Stage

Additional demonstrations and entertainment will continue throughout the evening, including Dino Shows, Chain Saw Carving, and Glass Blowing.


Saturday, July 25

Saturday begins with a full morning of family-friendly activities.

The day starts at 8:00 a.m. with:

  • COACH Kids Breakfast at the Encompass Event Center
  • WeCare Color Bun Run on East Washington Street

At 8:30 a.m., the COACH Kids Cornhole Tournament Registration begins, and the Splash Pad at Prairie Creek Park opens.

Morning activities continue with:

  • COACH Kids Cornhole Tournament
  • “Over the Top Tours” Street Vault
  • Doxie Derby Dachshund Race Registration
  • BMX Bike Show
  • Doxie Ninja Warrior Contest

At 11:00 a.m., visitors can enjoy even more festival attractions, including:

  • Puppy Park Family Fun Zone at Veterans Park
