The City of Frankfort Fire Department and Center Township are inviting the community to attend a special dedication ceremony celebrating the addition of a new brush truck to the department’s fleet.
The “Blessing of the Truck” ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Frankfort Fire Department Headquarters, 201 S. Clay St., Frankfort.
The event will honor the department’s new brush truck, which was purchased by Center Township to enhance the department’s ability to respond to brush, grass, and wildland fires, as well as other emergency situations.
Community members will have the opportunity to witness several longstanding fire service traditions, including the First Wash Ceremony and the Push-In Ceremony. The First Wash symbolizes preparing the apparatus for service, while the Push-In Ceremony pays tribute to the days when firefighters manually pushed horse-drawn equipment back into the station after returning from calls.
Following these traditions, the new truck will be officially welcomed into service, where it will help protect the residents of Frankfort and Center Township.
The ceremony is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend, meet local firefighters, and celebrate this important addition to the community’s emergency response resources.
