Community members are encouraged to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year by participating in WILO Radio’s annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive on Wednesday, July 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Frankfort Walmart.
WILO’s Cindy Loveless will broadcast live from the event from 5 to 7 p.m. on WILO 96.9 FM, WILO Lebanon 102.7 FM, and WILO 1570 AM, bringing listeners updates throughout the evening as donations are collected. The two-hour live broadcast is made possible through the support of Center Township of Clinton County and Wampler’s Disposal & Recycling.
During the event, Cindy Loveless and the WILO crew will be collecting donations to help fill school buses with supplies for students attending Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie, The Crossing, Frankfort Community Schools, and Rossville Schools.
Residents can support the effort by donating new school supplies, making a cash contribution, or purchasing a Walmart gift card to be used toward needed classroom items. Donors may choose to support one specific school or divide their contributions among several participating school districts.
For those unable to attend Wednesday’s event, donation boxes have been placed inside the Frankfort Walmart and will remain available after the live broadcast, giving shoppers additional opportunities to contribute.
Organizers say every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure local students have the supplies they need for a successful start to the school year. The annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign continues to demonstrate the generosity of the Clinton County community and its commitment to supporting area children and families.
