Over 500 backpacks with school supplies for school age children in Clinton County were given away from 5pm to 8pm at TPA Park in Frankfort.
The United Way for Clinton County event combined the school supply giveaway with displays from over 2 dozen United Way partners. Near the end of the event, United Way raced several hundred ducks at Saphire Bay to determine who would win the $1,000 and other prizes.
WILO’s Cindy Loveless broadcast LIVE from the event on 96.9 FM, WILO 1570 and Boone 102.7 FM. Clinton County Daily News toured the booths and recorded the event on YouTube.
Before the event started, all could see it was going to be a big event.Families had an opportunity to visit over two dozen United Way Partners to see what resources would be helpful for improving quality of life for Clinton County Residents.
Camp Cullom Ranger Hoppy Bray was there to remind families of the resources available at 90 acre Camp Cullom between Jefferson and Mulberry. Camp Cullom has a playground, streams, woods, campsites, disc golf, hiking trails, two ponds, a museum/nature center, lodge, astronomical observatory and much more.Time to Party!
