Grissom Air Museum Postpones Annual Warbird Cruise-in Due to Weather

Grissom Air Museum has announced that its annual Warbird Cruise-in, originally scheduled for Saturday, August 1, has been postponed because of forecasts calling for inclement weather.

In a statement shared on social media, museum officials said the event will now take place on Saturday, September 19. All event times, schedules, admission fees, and activities will remain unchanged.

Museum officials said the decision was made with the safety of guests, participants, volunteers, and vendors in mind.

“It is important to us at the GAM to keep our guests safe and we cannot do that based on the forecast,” the museum stated. “Our decision was not made lightly, but we hope that you opt to join us in September.”

Because of the schedule change, some previously registered vendors are no longer able to participate. As a result, the museum plans to reopen vendor registration during the week of August 3 to welcome additional participants. Volunteer registration is expected to open toward the end of August.

The Warbird Cruise-in is one of the museum’s signature annual events, featuring classic automobiles, military aircraft, vendors, food, and family-friendly activities that draw visitors from across the region.
