Attorney General Todd Rokita is once again teaming up with Indiana’s favorite horror host, Sammy Terry, to help Hoosiers reclaim what’s rightfully theirs.
Fairgoers are invited to stop by the Attorney General Rokita’s booth in the Mercantile Building on Saturday, August 8, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. to meet Sammy Terry and search for unclaimed property. It’s a great opportunity to see if forgotten money or other assets are waiting to be returned to you.
“Don’t let your rightful money rest in peace when it could be resting in your pocket,” Attorney General Todd Rokita said. “Partnering with Sammy Terry is a fun way to remind people that unclaimed property isn’t gone forever — it’s just waiting to be claimed.”
This year, the Attorney General’s Unclaimed Property Division has already returned more than $75 million and is well on its way to breaking last year’s record-shattering $88 million.
“You never know what’s hiding under your bed… or at Indiana Unclaimed,” Sammy Terry said. “Don’t be afraid to stop by Attorney General Rokita’s booth at the fair and see if you have any unclaimed property.”
Unclaimed property can include money orders, safe deposit box contents, bank accounts, refunds, credit card balances, cell phone bill overpayments, DMV payments, wages, and other overlooked funds — and nearly $1 billion of it still remains unclaimed in Indiana.
Staff will help visitors search for unclaimed property on the spot and answer questions about consumer protection. Free copies of key publications will also be available, including the Parents’ Bill of Rights, Gun Owners Bill of Rights, Consumer Data Bill of Rights, and the Indiana Constitution.
