A new piece of public art is bringing color and creativity to downtown Mulberry as the community’s first public art project takes shape on the side of the Sanford and Daughter Building at North Main Street and East Jackson Street.
The Mulberry Mural Project was made possible by the Arts Federation in partnership with the Mulberry Community Club, bringing mural artist BKFoxx to Mulberry to create the large-scale artwork.
BKFoxx has painted murals in communities across the country, and her work is now becoming a permanent part of Mulberry’s downtown landscape.
The mural represents a milestone for the community as Mulberry’s first piece of public art.
Residents have been able to watch the mural transform the building as BKFoxx brings the artwork to life. The project has provided an opportunity for the community to see the creative process firsthand and watch an ordinary downtown wall become a colorful work of art.
The Arts Federation and Mulberry Community Club are inviting the public to attend the mural dedication at 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, at 140 E. Jackson Street in downtown Mulberry.
