With summer temperatures continuing to climb, residents are being reminded that heat-related illnesses are preventable with proper preparation and awareness.
Staying hydrated, checking local weather reports, taking regular breaks and knowing the warning signs of heat-related illness can all help people stay safe during periods of high temperatures.
The Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition is inviting Frankfort residents to take part in the “Ready to Beat the Heat?” survey.
The survey is designed to help organizers better understand:
- What residents know about extreme heat
- How heat affects people in the community
- How local organizations can better help residents stay safe and “Beat the Heat”
Certain existing health conditions can become worse during hot weather, while some people may be more susceptible to heat-related illness. Knowing the signs and symptoms and taking precautions can help protect yourself, family members, friends and neighbors.
Residents who complete the survey will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for several prizes, including a $20 gift card to Frankfort Arni’s, a $40 gift card to Hope Collective Resale Boutique, or a 2027 one-day pass for four to Sapphire Bay Aquatic Center.
Community members are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their experiences with summer heat. The information collected will help local organizations identify ways to provide resources and support to help Frankfort residents stay healthy and safe during hot weather.
