Students in Clinton and Carroll counties interested in the 2027 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship are reminded that the application deadline is approaching.
Applications must be completed and submitted by Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. through the applicant’s respective county community foundation — the Clinton County Community Foundation or the Carroll County Community Foundation.
The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will provide 147 scholarships statewide, including one scholarship for a student from Clinton County and one scholarship for a student from Carroll County.
The scholarship covers otherwise unreimbursed full tuition and required fees, along with a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment. The award supports up to four years of full-time undergraduate study leading to a bachelor’s degree at an eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to Indiana residents who:
- Will graduate from an accredited Indiana high school by 2027 and receive their diploma no later than June 30, 2027.
- Plan to pursue a full-time bachelor’s degree at an eligible Indiana college or university.
- Meet the application criteria established by their respective county community foundation.
Students can find complete eligibility requirements and application information through the Clinton County Community Foundation or Carroll County Community Foundation.
Applications will be evaluated on factors including academic achievement, activities in and out of school, potential for success, financial need and an applicant interview.
Each county community foundation will select a finalist to nominate for the scholarship. The finalists will then be submitted to Independent Colleges of Indiana for the final selection process. Scholarship recipients are expected to be notified in December.
Scholarship Has Long History in Local Communities
The Clinton County Community Foundation is offering the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for the 30th year in Clinton County.
“For three decades, the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship has opened the door to a college education for one of Clinton County’s most deserving students each year,” said Todd Moser, president of the Clinton County Community Foundation. “This scholarship changes lives, and it keeps our brightest young people rooted here in Indiana. We are proud to offer it once again and encourage every eligible student to apply.”
Since the program began with the 1997-98 academic year, Lilly Endowment has provided more than $505 million in tuition grants, with more than 5,400 Indiana students receiving Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships.
The scholarship program is administered statewide by Independent Colleges of Indiana and locally through the respective county community foundations.
Students interested in applying should not wait until the deadline. Applications and all required supplemental materials must be submitted by Aug. 31 at 12:00 a.m.
