Clinton Central FFA Member Avery Yeager Receives Gold Rating in Poultry Production Proficiency

Avery Yeager of the Clinton Central FFA Chapter has received a Gold Rating for the Poultry Production Agricultural Proficiency Award, earning one of the highest honors available through the National FFA Organization.

Only 13 FFA members nationwide were awarded Gold Ratings this year in the Poultry Production proficiency area.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards recognize FFA members who develop specialized skills through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs) that can be applied toward future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management, with awards recognized at the local, state and national levels.

Yeager’s SAE project involves raising a flock of 100 layer hens and collecting and selling eggs to consumers. Yeager began the project in 2023 and has experienced significant growth each year. The project resulted in wins at the district level in 2025 and the state level in 2026.

Competing in agricultural proficiency awards requires detailed record-keeping and completion of an extensive application process each year.

The Clinton Central FFA Chapter is advised by Ricky Burns, Austin Orem and Reanna Stover.
