On August 27, 2026, shortly before 5:30 p.m., Indiana State Police and the White County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle fatal crash at the intersection of County Road 1100 West and Division Road in White County.
A preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Wiley revealed that a 2026 Jeep Compass was traveling northbound on County Road 1100 West. At the same time, a 2025 Ford F 350 was traveling westbound on Division Road. Traffic traveling northbound on County Road 1100 West is controlled by a stop sign, while traffic traveling westbound on Division Road does not have a stop sign.
The Jeep Compass entered the intersection and pulled into the path of the Ford F 350, which struck the Jeep.
All three occupants of the Jeep were transported to area hospitals in Lafayette. One passenger was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office following positive identification and notification of the family.
Both occupants of the Ford F 350 were also transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the crash. There is no additional information available for release at this time.
Trooper Wiley was assisted at the scene by additional troopers from the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post, the White County Sheriff’s Office, Wolcott Police Department, Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, Wolcott Fire Department, Wolcott EMS, Monticello Fire Department, and Monticello EMS.
