The Captain Harmon Aughe Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will honor Revolutionary War soldier Robert Wright with a Patriot Gravesite dedication on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Mulberry.
The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at Providence Cemetery, located near 2202 N. County Road 580 W. in Mulberry. The address is for a nearby residence and is being provided because it is recognizable to mapping services. The cemetery coordinates are 40.31940, -86.61420.
Sherry Stowers, Regent of the Captain Harmon Aughe Chapter, is working to identify and appropriately mark the resting places of Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Clinton County. The chapter has identified at least 10 Revolutionary War soldiers buried throughout the county.
To have a gravesite recognized as a Patriot Gravesite, documentation must establish that the individual buried at the location is the same person who served during the Revolutionary War. Following the verification process, the chapter holds a dedication ceremony commemorating the individual’s service to the United States.
Robert Wright is the chapter’s honored Patriot for 2026.
The public is invited to attend the dedication, with a special invitation extended to Wright’s descendants, along with state and local officials and organizations.
Those attending on behalf of an organization may bring a wreath or offer greetings during the ceremony. Silk or artificial wreath arrangements are welcome. Anyone planning to bring a wreath or offer greetings is asked to notify Stowers in advance so the participation can be included in the program.

The Captain Harmon Aughe Chapter has identified the following Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Clinton County:
- John Applegate — Old Town Cemetery, Kirklin
- Harmon Aughe — Old South Cemetery, Frankfort
- William Carter — Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort — marker placed September 17, 2023
- Thomas Harris — Old Town Cemetery, Kirklin
- Thomas Reagan — Old Town Cemetery, Kirklin — marker placed October 5, 2024
- John Reed — Old Town Cemetery, Kirklin
- Frederick Shaffer — Old Tennessee/Gray Cemetery, Middlefork — marker placed September 14, 2025
- John Wells — Old Town Cemetery, Kirklin
- Robert Wright — Providence Cemetery, Mulberry — dedication scheduled for September 13, 2026
- Matthias Young — Oddfellow Cemetery, Frankfort
The chapter is also working to verify the service of James Anderson, buried at Abbott Cemetery in Fickle; Isaac Dukes, buried at Loveless Cemetery in Colfax; and William Shaffer and Elisha Woodruff, both buried at Paris Cemetery in Michigantown.
Community Invited to Attend
No RSVP is required to attend the dedication, although guests who plan to participate in the program are asked to contact Stowers.
Because the ceremony will take place outdoors at a cemetery, attendees are encouraged to prepare for the conditions. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as walking may be required and the ground could be uneven. Guests may also want to bring an umbrella or sweater, bottled water and a lawn or bag chair. Seating will be limited.
A musket or rifle volley may also be included as part of the ceremony, resulting in the sound of a gun salute.
