INDIANAPOLIS — Carol Price of Clinton County was recognized Wednesday with the 2026 Golden Hoosier Award, a statewide honor presented to senior Hoosiers whose lives reflect outstanding service to their communities and the state of Indiana.
Price, founder and past president of the Clinton County Republican Women’s Club, Clinton County Council member, Rotarian, founder of Healthy Communities of Clinton County, Orchestrator of Trinity Hope Center, Founder of the annual Hero’s of Hope day, received the award during a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis. Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith presented the recognition alongside the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
In a letter to Price, Beckwith praised her service and dedication, saying her efforts “have strengthened communities across the state” and thanking her for what she has done for those around her while continuing “the tradition of Hoosier hospitality.”
The Golden Hoosier Award recognizes older Hoosiers for a lifetime of service and commitment to others. According to a message from Beckwith’s office distributed at Wednesday’s ceremony, the award has recognized Hoosiers since 2008 and is described as the highest honor the lieutenant governor’s office bestows upon senior Hoosiers on behalf of the state.
Price was joined at the Statehouse by family members, friends and local supporters for the award presentation. The Clinton County Republican Women’s Club congratulated Price in a social-media post, calling attention to her “immense investments in our community every day.”
Her certificate states that she was honored because her “personal life exemplifies outstanding service to the community and the State of Indiana.” The certificate was signed by Beckwith and E. Mitchell Roob Jr., secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
Price told WILO and Clinton County Daily News “While I am honored to receive this award for the work done in the Frankfort and Clinton County Community, I am most honored to have the opportunity to bring back this award on behalf of Frankfort and Clinton County.”
The Golden Hoosier Award ceremony was hosted at the Statehouse with recognition from the lieutenant governor’s office, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Bureau of Better Aging and AARP Indiana.
