The Rossville Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) recently partnered with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana to host its biannual blood drive, bringing together Rossville students, staff, and community members to help provide lifesaving blood to patients in need.
The drive welcomed donors, who generously gave their time—and their blood—to support local hospitals and patients. Rossville NHS members played an active role throughout the event, helping organize and promote the drive, assisting donors, and volunteering. Several NHS members also chose to become blood donors themselves.
The blood drive reflects the National Honor Society’s commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, and character. For Rossville NHS members, the event provides an opportunity not only to serve their community but also to lead by example.
“We are always grateful for the support this event receives from our Rossville Community,” said Rossville NHS adviser Kate Washburn. “Our students see firsthand what community service can accomplish, and it is especially meaningful to see our NHS members step forward to donate blood themselves. Their willingness to serve and give is a great example of what the National Honor Society represents.”
According to Versiti, donated blood helps support patients facing a variety of medical needs, including surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatments, and other serious health conditions. Each successful donation can make a meaningful difference for patients and their families.
The Rossville National Honor Society hosts a Versiti blood drive twice each year as part of its ongoing commitment to service. The chapter thanks Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, Rossville Consolidated School District, and all of the students, staff, and community members who helped make this semester’s drive possible.
The next Rossville National Honor Society blood drive will be held in March 2027. Students, staff, and community members are encouraged to participate and help continue Rossville’s tradition of giving.
