The Frankfort Community Public Library will host a special art lesson for tweens and teens in grades 6–12. Local artist Wendi Hall will guide participants through the creative process of drawing a bat in charcoal on Oct. 20 from 5–6:30 p.m. in the Library’s lower level meeting room. Attendees will learn to use charcoal pencils, kneaded erasers, and blending stumps during the class.
Hall attended The Art Institute of Indianapolis and has practiced charcoal portraiture for more than 20 years. She finds that creating portraits can distract from everyday stressors and help focus the mind on something positive. Some of Hall’s Halloween-themed charcoal art will be on display in the Hubbard Gallery throughout the month of October, and more of her art can be enjoyed on Instagram @artisticportraitsbywendi.
Registration is not required for this free program, and all materials will be provided. For more information, visit myfcpl.org/calendar, or contact Jessica Sloan at jessicas@myfcpl.org or (765) 654-8746, ext. 1116.
