The Frankfort Marine Corps League is inviting local Marines and Navy corpsmen to celebrate the 251st birthday of the United States Marine Corps on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Angry Donkey in Michigantown.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a meet-and-greet and appetizers. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
The Detachment will cover dinner for members and one guest. Nonmembers will be responsible for paying for their own meals. Those planning to attend are asked to contact the Detachment as soon as possible at marinecorpsleague967@gmail.com.
The Marine Corps League also welcomes community members who want to support its mission. Associate memberships are available to anyone interested in helping with community projects. Associate members cannot vote on Detachment business matters but can participate in projects that benefit the community.
This year’s fundraiser includes a raffle featuring an M1 rifle and a .45-caliber pistol. Tickets are $10 each. Those interested in obtaining more information can email the Detachment.
The Detachment also operates a scholarship program for high schools in Clinton County.
