Clinton Prairie Dominates in Sectional Semifinal

The Clinton Prairie Gophers defeated the North White Vikings 47-8 in Friday’s Sectional 42 Semifinal.

Gaige Kuzmicz completed nine of twelve passes for 191 yards, threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more.

At halftime, the Gophers led 34-0.

Alex King and Ryder Mitchell added scores in the third quarter; each finished with two touchdowns.

The Gophers advance to the Sectional 42 Championship game, where they’ll face Lafayette Central Catholic. The Knights beat Frontier in round one and shut out Tri-County 54-0 in the semifinal.

The Knights are 5-6 on the year, playing a difficult schedule of 2A, 3A, and 4A schools.

Clinton Prairie will host the Sectional Championship, looking for their first Sectional in school history.

Lafayette Central Catholic has won 17 Sectional titles, including six in a row from 2019 to 2024 before falling to Seeger in the first round a year ago.

The Gophers and Knight have squared off six times in Sectionals, most recently in 2019. The Knights have won five of the six matchups, with the only win for Clinton Prairie coming in 1992.
