Inside INdiana Business is reporting the city of Lafayette has commissioned a study after receiving interest in redeveloping the Five Points area. The city has hired design firm MKSK to help outline a vision for the future of the area.
Information was gathered from stakeholder meetings and public open houses to define a path to return the area to vibrancy, while preserving its heritage. The plan includes several phases, including Learning, Analysis and Opportunities, Recommendations, and Implementation and Documentation. The vision for the area include improvements in transportation, connectivity, open space, identification and branding.
Plans would call for mixed-use buildings, single family homes and new townhomes. You can view the city’s public presentation on the plan by clicking here.
