Employees from Frankfort’s Frito-Lay plants were on hand to help celebrate this new addition to the school’s meal programs. 398 employees from the two plants participated in the Ready, Step, Move…Give initiative and walked more than 86,000,000 steps, raising funds to support serving nutritious breakfasts to Clinton county students. Nationwide, PepsiCo employees took over 3 billion steps, which translated into serving more than 2.25 million breakfasts to students across the country.
Also on hand was a representative of the American Dairy Association Indiana who helped to identify Rossville Middle/Senior School as one ready to implement the Grab-n-Go style of breakfast service. The school is part of Fuel Up to Play 60, a school health and wellness initiative created by the National Dairy Council and the NFL, with oversight from the USDA.
Carla Elliott, Foodservice Director for Rossville Schools, and her staff helped students get used to this new way to get breakfast, and start their day nourished and ready to learn!
