Accident on County Road 400 East Claims One Life

At approximately 6:23 p.m. Friday, Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash with injury on County Road 400 East, just north of County Road 250 South.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a white 2000 Nissan Sentra, driven by Larry Abbott, 45, of Kirklin, was traveling northbound on County Road 400 East. A blue 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Todd Castle, 48, of Frankfort was traveling southbound at the same location. For unknown reasons, the Nissan left the roadway. The Nissan then reentered the roadway and struck the Chevrolet in the southbound lane of travel.
Abbott was transported to an Indianapolis area hospital via Stat Flight helicopter, where he later died from his injuries. Castle was treated at the scene by medics.
This crash remains under investigation.
