Arthur W. “Art” Long

Arthur W. “Art” Long, 58, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at his home.  He was born August 7, 1961, in Frankfort, to David  Long and Evelyn (Black) Long Graff; his step-father, William Graff survives in Kokomo.  On November 23, 1985, Art married Gloria B. Cortez; she survives in Frankfort.

Growing up in Forest, Art graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1980.  He had worked at Bona Vista in Kokomo, at Exide in Frankfort, and later at Abilities Services in Frankfort for ten years.  Art was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Church of Christ; he loved attending the Hot Dog Festival every year.  As a sports fan, he would cheer the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Steelers, and IU to victory.

In addition to his wife and step-father, Art is survived by his step-sons, Greg Brandenburg, of Kirklin, and Gary Brandenburg Jr. and Gerald (Veronica), both of Frankfort; sisters, Janet (Dusty) Gregory and Nancy Long (companion, Crystal Lindenmayer), both of Frankfort; aunt and uncle, Sarah and Estil “Sherl” Eldridge, of Forest; and five step-grandsons, Bobby, Patrick, Axel, James, and Chance.  A brother, Joe Long, also preceded Art in death.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12 noon.  Elder Tom Suits will officiate.  Burial will follow in Geetingsville Cemetery.  Memorials in Art’s name may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
