Brohm: Spring Football Season is ‘Doable’

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Purdue University Head Football Coach Jeff Brohm has developed a plan he says would allow for a spring football season in 2021, followed by a return to a fall schedule. His idea seems to be catching attention following this week’s decision by the Big Ten Conference to cancel fall sports due to the pandemic.

Brohm shared his ideas with Sports Illustrated. His plan includes an eight-game regular season starting in February and ending in mid-April, followed by playoffs in May.
“I think it was important to put something together that proves it’s doable to have a spring season,” Brohm told Sports Illustrated. “For these football players, especially our seniors, this gives them a chance to have a season.”
Brohm’s idea would allow for a fall 2021 season which would allow for 10 regular-season games starting in early October. There would also be a traditional postseason.
