Families looking to add a four-legged companion to their home have a special opportunity this month as the Humane Society of Clinton County has announced a “Christmas in July” adoption event.
Through July 31, 2026, adoption fees for all dogs and all cats six months of age and older are being sponsored by the organization’s “Fee Fairies,” allowing approved adopters to bring home a new pet at no cost.
While the adoption fees have been waived, the shelter emphasized that its adoption process remains unchanged. Prospective adopters must still complete an application and receive approval before taking an animal home.
Shelter officials say the goal of the promotion is to help more animals find permanent, loving homes while reducing the number of pets waiting for adoption.
The Humane Society encourages anyone considering pet ownership to visit the shelter and meet its available dogs and cats, noting that every shelter resident deserves a forever family.
