FRANKFORT, Ind. — Clinton County Commissioner Jordan Brewer won another term Tuesday night, leading a slate of Republican winners in county races as local officials completed the election night count for the Nov. 3, 2026, general election.
The unofficial final numbers were reported live on WILO’s election coverage by Cindy Loveless from the Clinton County Republican headquarters shortly before the broadcast signed off.
“Everything is in. So these are the final numbers we have,” Loveless said.
Results came in more slowly than usual. Election coverage host Shan Sheridan said earlier in the evening that Clinton County is usually “pretty much wrapped up” by that hour. Republican Party Vice Chair Wanda Mitchell had said all the votes were in and just needed to be counted.
“I would like to be able to say it’s one and done and hopefully not have to go back and double check,” Sheridan said on air, “and be able to certify it and not feel like you might have missed something.”
County Commissioner
In the three-way race for County Commissioner District 3, Brewer, the Republican incumbent and current commissioners’ president, received 4,329 votes. Independent Kimberly Duff had 1,669 votes, and independent Richelle M. Lutz had 536. Brewer won about 66% of the vote.
County Council
Republican Todd Corrie defeated Democrat Debra D. Pearson in County Council District 2, 768 to 672. That was the closest county-level race of the night.
In County Council District 3, Republican Joseph L. Mink defeated Democrat Lewis W. Wheeler, 1,521 to 672.
Center Township Board
Voters chose three Center Township Board members from six candidates. The top three were Democrat Joseph (Joe) Palmer with 1,174 votes, Republican Jessica Eason with 1,099, and Republican Donald Stock with 1,073. Vote totals for the other three candidates, Democrats David A. Riggs and Laurel Sparks-Sellers and Republican Zachary J. Light, were not reported on air.
School Boards
In the Clinton Central School Board at-large race, Brett Hillis defeated Mark A. McClain, 913 to 303.
The Clinton Prairie School Board at-large race was the closest school contest. Michael Aaron Boesch received 711 votes and Justin Brewer received 659. In Clinton Prairie District 17, Rob Allen defeated Kerk Kesler with 773 votes.
In Frankfort Community School Board District 4, Edward H. Niehaus defeated Jennifer Fitch, 1,669 to 1,273. In District 7, Sandra Miller won with 1,470 votes, ahead of Callie Evans with 851 and Larry (Chip) Jay Wright with 277.
State and Federal Races
U.S. Rep. Jim Baird, a Republican, carried Clinton County easily over Democrat Drew Cox, 4,667 to 2,626, or about 64% of the vote. Across the full 4th Congressional District, however, the race was much closer. Earlier in the evening, Baird and Cox were tied at 50%. By the end of the broadcast, Baird led 51% to 49%, a gap of about 2,500 votes.
In the Indiana House, Republican Rep. Heath R. VanNatter led Democrat Nate Stout in Clinton County’s part of District 38, 817 to 344. Republican Rep. Mark Genda led Democrat Jackson T. Hayes in the county’s District 41 votes, 3,356 to 1,650. Clinton County had no Indiana Senate race on the ballot this year.
Statewide races were still being counted when the broadcast ended. An earlier Clinton County update, taken before the final count, showed Republicans Max Engling (Secretary of State), Elise Nieshalla (State Comptroller) and Daniel Elliott (Treasurer of State) leading their Democratic opponents in the county.
All results are unofficial until certified by the Clinton County Election Board. Results for Boone and Carroll counties will be posted on the Kaspar Media Group news websites Wednesday.
