Clinton County YMCA Names New CEO

The Clinton County Family YMCA is proud to announce their newest CEO, Stephanie Cooper. Stephanie is a native of Clinton County, and comes to the Y from Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition, where she served as a Programs Coordinator for the past year. Stephanie joined the YMCA Board in October of 2021 as the board explored its next steps and was looking to broaden its reach with partners in the community.

Stephanie joined the YMCA Board in October of 2021 as the board explored its next steps and was looking to broaden its reach with partners in the community. Since joining, she has been a welcome voice of perspective and partnership, willing to pitch in wherever necessary. When the former CEO, Emilee Norris, submitted her resignation, Stephanie was elected as interim CEO while the board formed a search committee to fill the position. After interviewing multiple candidates, Stephanie quickly rose to the top position of consideration, demonstrating in her short time as interim CEO and a Y board member that she was the ideal candidate for the role. Stephanie has already demonstrated an immense capacity for problem solving, servant leadership, and a will to restore the Y to its former strength. She will be hitting the ground running, with an immediate need to hire a new Learning Ladder Childcare Director, Assistant Director, as well as staff positions throughout the facility. In addition, she will be assisting the board in new and improved fundraising and partnership efforts, as well as a search for grant and partnership opportunities throughout the local community. She is excited to open new programs, add new faces to the staff, and welcome new members.

“I have always believed in what the Y has to offer our community,” Stephanie stated after she accepted her offer. “I believe that this center serves the community in so many ways, but there are so many needs that can still be met through our programs and services. I am excited to connect friends and neighbors, professional connections, and resources to this organization that will benefit both partners immensely.” Stephanie officially starts her role on Monday, March 28. The YMCA will host a welcome reception in early April, which will be announced later on our social media channels as well as through our member email list. We encourage you to catch her upcoming interview on WILO’s Party Line on Wednesday, March 30 or stop in to welcome her to the YMCA.
