The Clinton County Council held its required second public hearing on the renovation projects involving the Clinton County Courthouse and the Annex, formerly the Regions Bank building downtown Tuesday morning.
“We had no one here to speak to it, so we closed out that hearing very quickly and were able to adopt the first resolution we’re required to do for the bond issuance,” said Council President Alan Dunn. “So, that keeps everything on schedule and on course.”
Dunn added he hoped they would be able to issue that debt in late July or early August.
“That’s the primary role of the council is to make sure the money is in place at the time the bids are available so that we have financing in place to accept the bids,” said Dunn.
Dunn also said they have a not-to-exceed limit of $26 million for these projects.
