The City of Delphi is making it easier for residents to participate in two of the community’s biggest events of the year by waiving garage sale permit fees during festival weekends.
The fee waiver will apply during the 171st Old Settlers Festival, scheduled for August 6–8, 2026, and the Indiana Bacon Festival, taking place August 21–23, 2026.
City officials said the decision is designed to encourage residents to join in the community-wide excitement by hosting garage sales while visitors are already in town for the festivals.
Residents can take advantage of the opportunity to clean out garages, give unwanted items a new home, and welcome festival visitors without paying the usual permit cost.
The City of Delphi encourages residents to participate by using the increased foot traffic during the festival weekends to host sales, promote recycling and reuse, and add to the overall community atmosphere.
“Let’s showcase the best of Delphi—one garage sale at a time,” city officials said.
