The Clinton County Fair Council been working this week putting in a couple new drives on the northside of the Edward Jones Community 4-H Building in the unused grassy area along south Jackson and extending a drive from the Edward Jones 4-H Building to the north entrance.
The large pile of millings that was stock piled at the fairgrounds was used a base for these drives and they will be putting a layer of stone over the drives in the coming weeks. They also put dirt in some low areas and will sewing grass later this week behind the new EMS area where we had some construction traffic.
Those roads will be closed from now through the fair. The Fair Council is excited to have more room for the Carnival and the new layout has been worked on for several months with Paul Huseman Carnival Company. The new drives will also allow more parking for other events and people visiting the Edward Jones Community and 4-H Building outside of fair time. They ask all people visiting the fairgrounds to keep using the south entrance off Jackson Street at this time and they thank them for their patience as we grow and expand for the future.
Only 37 days left until the fun begins! Fair dates are July 13-20.
