With Hundreds in attendance Friday evening A party was held for Ed Niehaus Athletic Director at Frankfort High School after 42 years of dedication to the Frankfort Community and school. Frankfort High School Band played and many athletes and students along with many teachers, former students, parents, family, and friends.
This retirement is going to leave a void in the FHS community.
Congratulations Mr Niehaus.

Whereas, Ed Niehaus graduated from Ball State University and dedicated himself to the Community Schools of Frankfort for 24 years, from 1983 to 2007, Mr Niehaus served as a dedicated math teacher at Frankfort High School, Shaping the Minds of countless students.
Whereas, during the 2007-2008 school year he transitioned to the roll of Athletic Director providing
exemplary leadership to the FHS to the FHS athletic programs and
Whereas, throughout his tenure at FHS Mr Niehaus generously contributed his time and expertise by coaching numerous sports including girls tennis, girls basketball, baseball, boys golf, boys tennis, girls track and field, and
Whereas his remarkable coaching career included the achievement of three sectional titles in girls basketball, boys baseball, and boys tennis. Also a Regional championship in girls basketball in 2000. and
Whereas Mr Niehaus alongside his wife Chris has been an integral and invaluable part of the Frankfort high school athletic community for many years demonstrating selfless service and unwavering support for teams,coaches, and athletes and
Whereas Mr Niehaus has resided in the city of Frankfort consistently contributing to the athletic successes and overall well-being of the community, and
NOW, THEREFORE I Judith Sheets, Mayor of the City Of Frankfort, together with the citizens of the city of Frankfort, Indiana recognize Ed Niehaus for his years of dedicated service, his positive impact on our students and athletes and his significant contributions to the community schools of Frankfort and hereby proclaim May 9, 2025 ED NIEHAUS DAY
