Frankfort Library Presents Fourth Hoosier Storyteller

Join us on Sat., May 5 at 2 p.m. in the Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatre for our fourth Hoosier Storyteller, Alan Gossard.  We will begin the program with a screening of the documentary, Running Big, which was created and Directed by Alan’s brother, David Gossard. Following the 47 minute documentary will be a presentation by Alan and a Q & A session. Alan’s brother, David, will be flying in from Boston for this program.  He can answer questions on his filming of Running Big (types of cameras used by an amateur videographer, problems that occurred, use of a drone, permissions required, etc), as well as editing, developing the story, getting permission to use film clips, music, etc.

From IMDb, “A 64 year old man from the flatlands of Indiana attempts one of the most grueling trail races in North America, ’The Double’: the Pikes Peak Ascent and the Pikes Peak Marathon in consecutive days. “  The film was screened at the Indy Film Fest and was awarded the Audience Choice Award in the Documentary Short category. It was also modified for TV and shown on PBS in Colorado, as well as shown at the pre-race expo before the 2017 Pikes Peak Marathon. This program is free and appropriate for all ages.  You won’t want to miss this thoughtful and inspiring presentation. Be on the lookout for a local restaurant in the film!
