The Frankfort Parks & Recreation Department announced that the city’s splash pad is once again open to the public.
The popular summer attraction reopened this week, giving families a place to cool off and enjoy outdoor recreation during warmer temperatures.
Along with the reopening, Parks officials are reminding visitors that proper hygiene plays an important role in keeping shared water facilities safe and enjoyable for everyone. Families are encouraged to ensure that children—especially young swimmers—wear appropriate swim diapers or take bathroom breaks before entering the water.
“Every little bit helps keep our community play spaces safe for everyone,” the department said in a public message.
Officials also noted that they are currently investigating an issue with the splash pad’s dumping bucket feature, which is not functioning as expected. No timeline has been announced for repairs.
Despite the maintenance concern, the splash pad remains open for public use, and city staff are thanking residents for their patience and understanding as they work to address the issue.
