Community Howard donated money to Healthy Communities of Clinton County Monday for Stepping on Stigma.
Community Howard Regional Health here in Frankfort loves giving back to the community, especially through their love blue jeans! As a way to raise funds for the community, the Community here in Frankfort had a blue jean day. For $5, employees could wear blue jeans for the day and give back to the community. Overall, they raised $185, which they chose to give to the Stepping on Stigma Mental Health Awareness movement.
“We are so grateful that they chose Stepping on Stigma,” states Executive Director of Healthy Communities Lorra Archibald. “$185 may not seem like much, but it makes a huge difference for mental health awareness and the different activities we do with Stepping on Stigma.”
Healthy Communities has done mental health awareness volleyball and basketball games, along with the Stepping on Stigma 5k through this movement. A mental health awareness basketball game will be played this Friday when Clinton Central plays Clinton Prairie. The 3rd Stepping on Stigma 5k will be held on Saturday, May 16. The funds given will go towards prevention, education, and to raise awareness for mental health, specifically through the community events such as those.
Healthy Communities would like to give a special thank you Danielle Majors, Program Manager at Community Howard, and the entire team of Community Howard here in Frankfort.
