James Michael Whiteman, 73, of Forest, Ind., died October 13, 2022 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. He was born January 22, 1949 in Pekin, Ill. To James Hers
hel & Mary Louise (Arthur) Whiteman. He was previously married to Sandy Peeler. He married Elizabeth Ann (Chester) Thieke on December 22, 2016 and she survives.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving for four years during Vietnam. He had worked for Hiram Walker Distillery. He was a member of the Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church in Frankfort and was baptized this last Easter. James enjoyed fishing, playing slot machines, loved to ride his bicycle and exercise, but mostly he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Thieke of Forest, 2 sons: Michael (Stacy) Whiteman of Illinois and Mark A. (Tami) Whiteman of Mackinaw, IL, 2 step-daughters: Pamela (Garey) Harrison and Kandice (LeRoy) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Travis Whiteman and 2 brothers, Frank & Don Whiteman.
Funeral Services:
No public services are planned. Burial will Military Honors will be in Memorial Gardens in Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Cancer Fund.
