The Michigantown Lions Club invites the community to gather in remembrance and honor this Memorial Day with a special breakfast and commemorative program on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Michigantown Lions/Alumni Building.
The day will begin with an all-you-can-eat breakfast served from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, featuring homemade sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk, and orange juice. A free will donation will be accepted. All veterans will receive a complimentary breakfast in appreciation of their service.
Following breakfast, the Memorial Day program will begin at 9:00 AM. The event will include patriotic songs and live music performed with guitar and autoharp, as well as a children’s flag presentation. Attendees will also hear poems and readings, along with a reflection on the history of Memorial Day.
Veteran speakers Ed Pluhar and Larry Price will share remarks during the program, offering personal insight and tribute. The Kirklin American Legion will also participate with Taps and a gun salute, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
