Charges Filed in Early Wednesday Morning Shooting

The Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday afternoon Josh Reister has been charged with three felonies for his role in a shooting early Wednesday morning.

Reister appeared in Clinton Superior Court Thursday for his initial hearing. He is charged with Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony, Use of False Information to Obtain a Firearm, a Level 5 Felony; and Criminal Recklessness, a Level 6 Felony.

Reister entered a not guilty plea and his trial is currently set for May 27.

Reister was arrested after Clinton County deputies were called to County Roads 7500 East and 100 North where they found a victim with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said Reister heard a knock at his door and saw the victim outside. Reister told deputies he knew the person. When Reister didn’t answer the door, the victim allegedly broke a window while knocking. Deputies said that’s when Reister fired a handgun towards the window and hit the victim.
