Thursday morning’s commute could be dangerous at time as patchy freezing drizzle is expanding across Central Indiana early this morning. This is expected to continue to expand over the next few hours with areas of freezing rain and drizzle expected as a brief period with sleet and light snow.
While participation amounts will only be a couple hundreths of an inch at most, these amounts may cause icy conditions with subfreezing surface and road temperatures expected through mid-morning, especially on untreated roadways and surfaces. This will impact the morning commute.
Plan on allowing extra time to reach your destination this morning and drive carefully wherever roadways are wet. Any icing threat will diminish by late morning as light precipitation changes to all rain.
