RAICES Festival Scheduled for 4 P.M. Saturday at Prairie Creek Park in Downtown Frankfort

The Raices Festival, formerly known as the Hispanic Heritage Festival, will take place on Saturday, September 16, from 4-10:30 p.m. at Prairie Creek Park.

This is a day-long event filled with music from the groups “Principe” and “La Original Banda RC” and the Frankfort High School Band. Other events going on will be a parade and flags and regional attire; mole preparation demo; mini model exhibition; recognition and reading of the winning essay, art exhibition by students; Mexican street food; kids’ activities as well as a Afro-Peruvian Music Workshop. DJ Xtasis will be there as will Ballet Folklanco Mosaicso.
