Richard “Dick” C. Zink

Richard “Dick” C. Zink, 87, of Frankfort, formerly of Lafayette, passed away at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born March 14, 1934 in Benton County, to Carl Herman and Virginia (Biddle) Zink. He married Jane E. Bergin on January 31, 1959, in Logansport; she preceded him in death on July 4, 2018.

Dick was a 1953 graduate of Otterbein High School and after high school, he joined the Army. Dick retired in 1996 from Rea Magnet Wire in Lafayette after working there for 33 years. He always enjoyed socializing, gardening, fishing, camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort.

Dick is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Norman) Allen of Attica, Lori (Jeff) Stover of Frankfort; and grandchildren, Cecelia Allen of Attica, Jessica (Clayton) Eldridge of Covington, Justin, Clayton, and Chase Stover all of Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert, Joseph, Robert, and James Zink; and sisters, Martha Gushwa and Joyce Gushwa.

Visitation will be from 9-11am, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Muller Hall with the Rosary beginning at 9am.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Father Paul Cochran will officiate.

Graveside committal will follow at 2pm at the Oxford Catholic Cemetery (“St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery”) in Oxford.
