The Rossville Consolidated School District is in the market for a new high school and middle school principal following the resignation of Michael Gick, who held both roles at Rossville High School.
Gick officially told Superintendent Dr. Jim Hanna two weeks ago he was going to resign his positions to run CBD Solutions full time in Lafayette. The board accepted the resignation Tuesday night and began the search for a replacement.
“Last night, the board conducted a first round of interviews and we have an executive session scheduled for Thursday night,” said Hanna on Wednesday. “Those candidates will meet with the board and the community group as well.”
Hanna feels confident in getting a replacement named before school starts.
“August 1 is the first day for staff,” said Hanna. “I think we have a decent pool of candidates. The board was pleased with the candidates we had last night and we’ve got two more coming in Thursday night.”
