From classroom accomplishments to important school updates, Rossville Consolidated School District is using ParentSquare and published news stories to help families stay connected and give the community a closer look at what is happening inside its schools.

The district’s September 2026 communications review, prepared in partnership with ParentSquare, offers evidence that those efforts are reaching families. Of 962 student families included in the report, 946, or 98.3 percent, could receive messages through at least one working communication channel.

The report recorded engagement among 932 families, or 96.9 percent. Another 604 families, representing 62.8 percent, took an action such as responding to a message, completing a form, acknowledging a post, or signing up for an activity. Both engagement and participation exceeded the report’s median figures for similar districts.

Teachers are an important part of that connection. During September, 82.9 percent sent at least one ParentSquare post or direct message. Classroom and group communications accounted for approximately one-third of messages, while private conversations between staff and families provided another avenue for personal attention.

Together, those exchanges help parents follow school activities, receive practical information, and communicate with educators.

Rossville’s outreach also extends beyond enrolled families. Articles published by local news outlets bring student accomplishments and district programs to the wider community.

Clinton County Daily News reported in February that Rossville recognized 215 middle and high school students for earning cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.5. A March report on Superintendent Dr. Jim Hanna’s radio appearance highlighted STEM education, dual-credit opportunities, extracurricular programs, and school safety efforts. Such coverage gives residents concrete examples of the opportunities available to Rossville students.

The district’s website continues that storytelling. Recent posts have featured students outperforming statewide academic averages, a National Honor Society blood drive, preschool lessons involving community helpers, and a Grandparents’ Day celebration attended by 799 grandparents. These stories make student learning, service, and family involvement visible beyond the classroom.

Communication also matters when routines change unexpectedly. An April news article described how Rossville kept families informed while coordinating dismissal during a community power outage, illustrating the practical importance of clear, consistent updates.

The September review identifies opportunities to strengthen that connection further, including verifying family contact information and encouraging adoption of the ParentSquare app.

For Rossville, the communications effort spans both everyday needs and moments worth celebrating. ParentSquare connects schools with families, while online news coverage helps the broader community see the achievements, experiences, and partnerships shaping life at Rossville Schools.
