Rossville Consolidated School District is proud to recognize Mr. Quentin Smith, 6th-grade Social Studies and Preparing for College and Careers (PCC) teacher, for presenting at the 2026 Indiana Career Readiness Conference in Indianapolis.
Hosted by Inspire Success, the statewide conference brings together educators, career coaches, school counselors, and work-based learning professionals to share innovative practices that help prepare Indiana students for college, careers, and life after high school.
Mr. Smith was selected as one of the conference presenters and led a breakout session titled “Personality Islands Project,” an engaging classroom experience he developed for students enrolled in Rossville’s Preparing for College and Careers course. Conference attendees learned how the project is implemented from beginning to end, including classroom preparation, instructional strategies, student activities, and reflective practices that help students better understand their personalities, interests, and future career pathways.
The presentation marked Mr. Smith’s first opportunity to present at a statewide professional conference.
“It was a very rewarding experience,” said Smith. “I enjoyed connecting with educators, career coaches, counselors, and members of the PCC Resource Network that I have worked alongside over the past several years. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and I am honored to have already been invited to present again at next year’s conference.”
The Preparing for College and Careers (PCC) Resource Network, administered by Inspire Success, supports Indiana educators by providing standards-aligned instructional resources, professional learning opportunities, and statewide collaboration focused on preparing students for successful futures.
Rossville Superintendent Dr. James W. Hanna praised Smith’s accomplishment.
