The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office released that a single vehicle crash through a construction zone in Frankfort resulted in a fatality of a Frankfort woman Wednesday night.

On April 17 just after 8:30 p.m., Deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office reportedly responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the 7000-block of W. State Rd. 28 in Frankfort.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located a silver 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis in the construction zone with heavy front end damage, authorities report. A preliminary investigation ensued and uncovered that the vehicle left the traveled portion of the roadway and entered the construction zone for an unknown reason, continuing through the construction zone before becoming airborne. The vehicle then reportedly entered the section of roadway that had been excavated approximately four-feet deep.

The vehicle reportedly struck the edge of the excavated area of the roadway where it came to a stop. Authorities later identified the driver of the vehicle as Angel Kindle, 41, of Frankfort, and she was announced deceased at the scene.

Authorities stated that Kindle’s family has been notified and the investigation is ongoing to uncover the reasons behind the vehicle’s departure from the traveled roadway.
