Summer Concert and Movie Series Kicks Off May 28

A great mix of FREE movies and music will fill TPA Park this summer with the Parks Department’s 2017 Summer Nights  Concert and Movie Series kicking off Sunday, May 28 with the showing of the movie, Sing, beginning around dusk (9:00 p.m.).
The movie and concert schedule is as follows:
Sunday, May 28 movie:          Sing
Thursday, June 8 concert:       Cole Woodruff
Friday, June 23 movie:            Monster Trucks
Tuesday, July 4 concert:         The Hunter Smith Band
Thursday, July 13 concert:      Gibson Wells
Friday, July 21 movie:            Moana
Friday, August 4 movie:         A Dog’s Purpose
Thursday, August 10 concert: Kelly Isenhower
Friday, September 1 movie:    Trolls
The concerts will be 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the gazebo in TPA Park and the movies will begin around dusk near Shelter #5.
According to Parks Superintendent Joel Tatum, everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments and enjoy the entertainment.
“We are very pleased to be offering a wide variety of great musical groups and family-friendly movies this year and look forward to seeing everyone out at TPA Park for fun evenings under the stars,” Tatum said.
If it’s raining on any of the scheduled evenings, the movies and concerts will be rescheduled with the new dates found on the City’s Web site ( and the City, Parks Department and Mayor’s Facebook pages.
