Suzanne “Sue” M. Payton

Suzanne “Sue” M. Payton, 78, of Frankfort, died February 10, 2020 at home.  She was born February 5, 1942 in Indianapolis, Ind. to the late Richard V. Gustavel & Mary Helen (Boyd) Gustavel.  She married James E. Payton on November 6, 1964 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2005.

Sue was a 1960 graduate of Frankfort High School and was a homemaker.   She was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church for over 65 years, where she served as past deacon, trustee, and elder, along with being a member and secretary of the Presbyterian Women’s Association, member of various bible studies, and small groups.   Sue was also a member of the Red Hat Society, a former board member of United Way, former member and officer of Tri Kappa, had cooked for the Happy Times Club for 26 years and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.

She is survived by her Son: Jason E. (Jennifer) Payton of Carmel, Indiana; Daughter: Stacia M. (Jason) MacMurray of Haleiwa, Hawaii; 2 Sisters: Sharon (Ron) Costlow of Fishers, Indiana and Karla (Darrell) Sanders of Frankfort, Indiana; and 4 Grandchildren: Clive and Maddox MacMurray and Levi and Vivienne Payton.  She was preceded by her parents and spouse.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. followed by Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 West Clinton Street, Frankfort, Indiana 46041.  Pastor Kelly Kurth will officiate.  Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
