The Crossing Holds Winter Graduation Saturday Morning

The Crossing celebrated 16 more graduates today from Frankfort and Lafayette in their Winter Graduation. The mission of the Crossing is to empower struggling students to become contributing members of their communities through academics, job training, and faith-based character education. The goal is for each student to earn a high school diploma, to be equipped for the workforce, and to have an invitation to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

One thing that makes each Crossing graduation unique and special is that every graduate prepares and presents a speech. They share how they got connected with the Crossing, how they have grown, what they will miss, what their next steps are, and who they would like to thank. Future plans today included business owners, full-time at NHK, fire department, police department, paralegal, and military. As students share, their families stand in front of them and their teachers stand behind them, encircling them with support. Many past graduates and current students were also in attendance today as extended Crossing family.

This day would not be possible without a community who believes that every student can succeed. Local public schools provide funding for students to attend, while many private donors also contribute. Thank you to the Nazarene Church for hosting another memorable ceremony! If you missed today’s celebration, it can be viewed on youtube under the Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene.
