As the community continues to respond to the recent disaster, Tipton County officials and local organizations are working to coordinate donations and make sure help reaches residents who need it most.
Tipton County Communications E-911 said the response has highlighted the generosity of the community, with numerous individuals and organizations reaching out to offer support.
“Disaster Relief is a multifaceted beast,” officials said, noting that efforts are focused on meeting immediate needs while also assessing what will be needed in the coming days and weeks.
To better coordinate the response, residents are being asked to use designated donation locations and the Tipton County Foundation’s flood relief fund.
Food and Hygiene Donations
Food and hygiene items can be donated to Good Shepherd Food Pantry at 120 S. 4th Street in Tipton.
Only commercially packaged, unopened food items should be donated.
Items may be left in the breezeway at the pantry. For donations requiring refrigeration, contact Deb Kuhn at 765-860-2671. Kuhn is also available to meet donors after 3:45 p.m. on weekdays.
Cleaning Supplies and PPE
Cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) can be dropped off at the following locations:
- STAR Financial Bank
- Los Portales Mexican Restaurant
- The Love Bug Food Truck & Cafe
- ABC & Me Daycare
- The Empty Vase
- Quick Cup
Residents are encouraged to check the individual business hours before dropping off donations.
Monetary Donations
Those wishing to provide financial assistance can donate to the 2026 Tipton County Flood Relief Fund, established through the Tipton County Foundation.
Donations can be made through the Tipton County Foundation’s online donation portal.
Officials emphasized that the need for assistance will continue beyond the immediate disaster response, with additional opportunities to help expected to be announced as needs are identified.
The coordinated effort involves local agencies and organizations, including the Tipton Police Department, Tipton Fire Department, Tipton County Highway Department, Tipton County Sheriff’s Office, City of Tipton, Tipton County Health Department and Tipton Municipal Utilities.
