Traffic Stop Leads to Three Arrests

Tuesday night, a traffic stop by Indiana State Police Trooper David Kewish led to the arrests of David King 53, Kristin Pounds, 35, both from Kokomo, IN and Zeppelin King, 33 from Peru, IN. All three were incarcerated in the Howard County Jail. David King faces criminal charges for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.  Zeppelin King was arrested for resisting law enforcement. Kristin Pounds faces charges for possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monday at approximately 10:28 p.m., Kewish initiated a traffic stop, on a GMC Envoy, on Hoffer Street near Reed Road. The GMC was stopped for a traffic violation. David King was identified as the driver.

During the traffic stop, Kewish allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the GMC. During s subsequent search of the GMC, and its occupants, officers allegedly found methamphetamine, a hypodermic needle, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

While officers were searching the GMC, Zeppelin King, a passenger fled on foot. He was quickly captured by troopers. Further investigation revealed that Zeppelin King had an active arrest warrant, from Howard County, IN, for auto theft.

Kristin Pounds was also a passenger in the GMC.
